Sinar company story

Our Mission

Helping small businesses grow with technology they can trust

Sinar was founded on one simple belief: that AI tools should work for the people using them, not the other way around.

Our Story

Born from a real need in Klang

Sinar started from a series of conversations with shopkeepers, service providers, and small manufacturers around Klang — people who kept hearing about AI but had no way to find out whether it actually applied to their work. Most of the information they found assumed a technology team, a developer, or a large budget. None of those fitted their situation.

We set out to close that gap. Not with a training course or a software product, but with a consulting approach that begins by listening — learning what a business actually does day to day, before suggesting anything at all.

The name Sinar means ray of light in Malay — a small, clear signal in an otherwise confusing landscape. That is the role we try to play: not dramatic transformation, but useful, honest guidance that respects the pace and priorities of the people we work with.

Our Mission

What we are here to do

Our mission is to make AI adoption accessible and sensible for small businesses in Malaysia, starting with the communities we know best in Klang and the wider Selangor region.

Clarity over hype

We describe tools honestly — what they do well, where they fall short, and whether they are relevant to your business. We do not oversell.

Owner and team first

Decisions belong to the business owner. Our role is to provide good information and practical support, not to push a particular outcome.

Measured, seasonal progress

Like a paddy field, good results come from steady, well-timed effort. We do not rush adoption and we do not leave clients unsupported mid-process.

Our Standards

How we work, and what you can expect

Needs assessment first

We begin every engagement by understanding your business before recommending anything. No solution is proposed without a clear view of what problem it addresses.

Client data handled with care

Operational details you share with us stay confidential. We do not share client information with third parties and we do not use it for any purpose outside the engagement.

Written summaries provided

After every workshop or review session, you receive a plain-language written summary. This gives you something to refer back to and share with your team.

Honest recommendation policy

We only suggest tools we have evaluated ourselves. We do not accept referral fees from software providers, so our recommendations reflect your needs, not ours.

Clear scope before starting

Every arrangement is defined and agreed before any work begins. You know exactly what is included, at what cost, and on what timeline — with no hidden additions.

Bilingual communication

Our team is comfortable working in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, so sessions and written materials can be prepared in the language that works best for your team.

Our Approach

AI consulting that fits the scale of a small business

Most AI consulting services are built around larger organisations with dedicated IT teams, change management budgets, and the bandwidth to absorb disruption. Sinar works differently. We focus on the realities of running a small business in Klang — a retail shop, a service workshop, a small food manufacturer, or a family-run logistics operation — where the owner is also the manager, the scheduler, and often the person doing the work.

Our consulting process starts with observation, not recommendation. We spend time understanding the daily rhythm of a business: what tasks take the most time, where mistakes tend to happen, what information gets lost between people. From that picture, we identify the one or two places where a simple AI tool could make a genuine difference — not a dramatic overhaul, but a useful addition to the way things already work.

The tools we work with are predominantly web-based and low-cost, chosen because they can be introduced without specialist installation or IT support. We focus on tools for drafting and organising text, handling routine customer communication, and managing scheduling or data — areas where small businesses often lose time without realising it.

Sinar is registered in Selangor and operates primarily within the Klang Valley, with a focus on clients in the Klang, Shah Alam, and Port Klang areas. We conduct sessions in person where possible, and by video call for clients who prefer it. All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit, and invoices are issued before work begins.
